So yet again I an late but this will be full of useful things to rant about. Let's start with football.
The Washington Redskins won! They actually won against the NY Giants Sunday. If the Redskins are going to start winning now, well a win is a win... but why couldn't they have found their game earlier in the season!?!? It would have been so much more exciting if they had played well all season long. But back to the game, Rex of course, was unreliable as usual, throwing two interceptions, and the rest of the team had to work hard to pick up the slack. Amazingly the Giants couldn't seem to find a way to stop the Skins (no matter how slow/bad it was) they struggled to put even 10 points on the board. Eli Manning seemed bored or maybe he's just getting tried of playing football. Final Score: 23-10 Skins.
I really wasn't looking forward to the Denver-New England game. The reason is simple, I've taken a liking to Tim Tebow. I don't care that everyone is saying that he plays like a college player but I think that's what makes him so... good? He's unpredictable which is why the Patriots defense had such a hard time at the beginning of the game; well most of the first half to be honest. Tom Brady seemed frustrated to no end sitting on the sideline during the first half but once the defense got going they paved the way for Brady & Co. and as most of you know (or should know by now) once they get going it's hard to stop them. In this game Tebow wasn't able to pull-off a last minute win, sorry. Final Score: 41-23 Pats.
I was in Willamsburg, VA all day on Monday and I live were no one seems to care about the Steelers so I have just about no idea what happened in their game. About the only thing I heard was that the power went out twice during their game but the backup power worked and they managed to play the game. Big Ben (from what I hear) was limping around instead of walking and they lost to San Fransisco 3-20.
In other NFL news it was a week of weirdness. The "perfect team" aka the Green Bay Packers lost (13-1) to the Chiefs (6-8), 19-14. The Colts (1-13) who have tanked the season even worse than the Skins manged to win over the Texans (10-4).
On to hockey. The Capitals have been... I'm not sure how to put it... OK, that'll work. Until they show me that they and Ovie can be reliable to win more than one game in a row then and only then will I change what I said. Ovie needs to get going and fire more shots on goal and score more goals in general.
On last thing about hockey. When players get hit hard enough to get a concussion and they play again in the next game and get hit hard again, they'll most likely be out for a longer amount of time. To all coaches out there and doctors, even when science and the health report says the player is healthy to play, always leave it up to the player he (or she) knows better than anyone. And that applies to all sports not just hockey.
Post again on Saturday after the games.
