If you didn't know, one small thing happened this week...
So if you aren't a die hard Boston fan like I am you may not know this but the Boston Bruins are going to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 20 years! Let us flashback to Friday night: I was sitting in my hotel room with my family thinking about what I was going to say when I got back to a computer when the TV (which had been on the whole time) blared the ROAR coming from the TD Bank Garden arena. If the sound of people relishing in the win could blow off a roof, this was that time. I jumped up and started dancing around the hotel room. Finally one of my teams has the chance to win it all this season! Now only one thing still stands in their way from winning, the Vancouver Canucks... and the first game is away from the now quiet Garden. The game starts at 8 on Wednesday.

It's No Lombardi but it's a Trophy and other stuff.
Well, when I saw that Hines Ward had won "Dancing with the Stars" it was like he had won the Super Bowl... well close to it. It was awesome. Now he can put the "Dancing" trophy up on the shelf with his Super Bowl rings. He's danced well all season but his samba was my favorite mostly because it was all party and very Steeler.
In other sports news...tonight my sister sang the National Anthem at the P-Nats game. But that was the best part of the whole game. Right now (the games still going on) it's 13-6 Nats down. Two innings left, they could pull it off, they've done it before.
On to hockey. Boston is in a series with the Tampa Bay Lighting. They have the lead by one game, 3-2 (best out of 7 games). One more game and they're done but an upset by Tampa leads to game 7. I really hope not. If it happens, Boston will do what they do best: grind it out 'til the bitter end even if it means a longer seires. The players on Boston's team seem to have a uncanny ability to be their same gritty selves, no matter who they play or how much they are down by. Hockey will be hockey no matter how unpredictable it is.

Guess who
Redskins QB Donovan McNabb may just be into baseball. He said at a recent charity event, "Maybe I'll play for the Washington Nationals." The Potomac Nationals (which are a minor leauge team for the Washington Nationals) were lisening, they called up McNabb's representatives but they haven't said anything. If he really wants to play baseball he may want to start lower down like with the P-Nats, then work his way up; but maybe he thinks he can do what ever he wants because he's a super-star sports player.
It would be cool to see a football player in my hometown play where I can see him in action, even if it's a different sport. If he does play, and I mean IF, what would he play? Pitcher, right field, catcher, fist base? Pitcher is close to QB, that would make the most sense, but what about catcher? A change might be a good thing for him. All I know is that things might be just a little more interesting around here.

Baseball and an Anthem
So I found out today that my sister might be singing the National Anthem at the Potomac Nationals game on May 25 with the youth choir from our church. The Nationals have been having a really good season so far (and I'm talking about both), but they still could do better like maybe getting their bats in action, it may help some. Besides the Nationals I like the Red Sox. They have been having a great season; let's hope that they can keep it up as there's still a long way to go. If all three teams play like this they just might be ready for some good props from me at the end of the season.
Welcome to my Sports Blog
This blog is all about sports. Football, Hockey, Baseball, Olympic action, and other winter sports like the X-games (both summer and winter). My favorite teams that I will talk a lot about are: New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and maybe Washington and Potomac Nationals. I find Basketball confusing so just highlights here.
I love snow and all sports that have to do with it. I snowboard and I hope to be a pro boarder. I also own and ride a Swedish warm-blood. I don't compete yet in either but I hope to in snowboarding soon.
